Free food for Iftaar

In Dubai (and many Muslim countries) during Ramadan at Iftaar time, it is customary for many families to offer free meals to the public (in general poor people), outside or inside their homes. This picture was taken at such an occasion where food and people (mainly from the sub-continent) were lined up with their buckets and plates.

One wonders how there can be people without enough food in ramadan in a wealthy place like that.

When in Dubai, I actually manage to get em rich people to do home delivery for me :)

Weird how time changes things. Dad used to tell me that as a kid he only tasted meat in Ramadan.

SS everyone is not rich. Everyone does not have 2 cars, 3 servants and a 5 bedroom villa. Ever since rents have hit the ceiling ,most people have sent family hom, most are living in sharing. Most some people can afford is what is a very interesting term in this country, BED SPACE.
It means that one is on a shift job, and during the time that person is ay work another will sleep in his bed, and in rotation as such.
It isnt a life.
Its barely an existence.
So I guess for people like that and worse (many of them), this food is prob the best they will eat all year thru.
May Allah bless those who make these meals possible.

It's truely a wonderful thing to do to open your home and your heart, but it looks like so many people or one home to serve? Wouldn't it be better if they orangized a goup of people and start doing it in town.
Unless they like doing it in this way. It is certainly more personal, Maybe that is what makes it so nice.

exseno- Everyone tries to help in their own way, some people give Iftaar at the mosque some in their homes. There are also organizations that have set up camps for distribution like the UAE Red Crescent Society, they are a bit more organzied.
